No Hurdles: You, Business and Beyond

We were running.

Running as fast as we can.

Running as fast as we can to a presentation of a new client that could lead us to significant new business.

Ready and Able

We were polished.

We knew the facts, figures and any objection that could lead us to the prize.

We slept well last night, woke up and energized.

We were Laserjet focused on our goals to succeed with no hurdles in our way.

We thought to ourselves, “This is an awesome feeling. We are confident. We are assured, but not cocky. We are respectful of not only our company but the company that we are dealing with, too. All that and having fun to boot.”

The Big Day

We arrived 15 minutes before the schedule for the big meeting.

We read an article that is actually quite stimulating and useful.

As a matter of fact, that publication may be engaging in future endeavors of our firm and us as well.

And then, the secretary announced, “I am sorry, the people that were meeting with you have canceled because of a conflict. We will have to reschedule for several weeks. Thanks for your consideration.”

Oh no.

Resharpen and Refocus Our Talent

Certainly, we have a choice: do we fold up our tents and basically say, “Screw you! We are not coming back ever again,” or do we take it as a learning tool, to resharpen and refocus our talent to even do a better job than was supposed to be today?

That decision, of course, is up to you.
